Swim with Us!

There is no better way for kids to spend their Summer than swimming with the C-Serpents! Whether you are newer to swimming or swim with a club team, if you are between the ages of 5 and 18 then there is a place for you on our team. C-Serpents is also a great way to connect with neighborhood kids - we have social activities, pep rallies at the pool, and a buddy program. Come fill your summer with friends, fun, and swimming!

The team season is May 26th through July 25th and includes practice options five days a week, Pep Rallies on Friday evenings, competitive “A” meets on Saturday mornings, and non-competitive “B” meets on Monday evenings. Our team is inclusive and flexible, we do not have minimum practice or meet requirements.

Practice Times are as follows

Assessments for 8 & under swimmers

May 26th at 5pm for swimmers 8 & under swimmers who do not already swim with the regular swim team. Coaches will determine placement for swimmers on either the swim team or our developmental Super Serpent team.

Swim Team practice while school is in session

Swim practice for the Swim Team (not Super Serpents) is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, May 27th. Times are as follows:

Ages 11 & under will practice from 5-6 pm;

Ages 12 & up will practice from 6-7 pm).

Practice schedule after school is out for the summer

Beginning June 18th, Super Serpent practices and morning practices for Swim Team will be held Monday through Friday. Times are as follows:

7:30-8:30 am for ages 12 & up,

8:30-9:30 am for ages 11 & under, and

9:30-10:15 for Super Serpent swimmers

Evening Practices

Beginning June 18th, evening practices will also be available Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 5-6 pm for those swimmers who have conflicts with morning practice times. Sorry, no Super Serpents at the afternoon practices!

Camp Lane

A limited number of spots will be available in a designated lane during the 7:30–8:30 a.m. practice for 11 & under swimmers (not Super Serpents) attending day camps. This option is intended only for swimmers who cannot attend the 8:30–9:30 a.m. practice due to camp schedules, not for siblings to attend the same practice time. Spots will be available through a weekly sign-up. If the sign-up is full, families are encouraged to use the 5–6 p.m. practice Tuesday through Thursday.

Practices are subject to change or be cancelled (due to inclement weather, etc.).

If you have questions or would like to learn more, contact our Swim Team Representatives: Georgia Saunders and Erin Moretz at [email protected]

About NVSL - Northern Virginia Swimming League

The Northern Virginia Swimming League was founded in 1956 to sponsor competitive swimming and diving events and activities among community swimming pools of Northern Virginia, and to develop in the children participating in this program – “A love for the sport, advanced aquatic skills, teamwork and the principals of good sportsmanship”.

NVSL Website

You can get information regarding the NVSL at www.mynvsl.com. Here you can find your swimmer’s “A” meet event times, meet results, divisional and league standings, rules, etc.

Divisions

The NVSL Swimming League has 17 Divisions. Each Division has 6 teams. Each year, the NVSL analyzes and reorganizes over 100 swim teams into divisions dependent upon a number of factors such as their previous season record, team size, swimmer statistics, etc. At the annual NVSL seeding meeting in February, the division placement is revealed.
